Have you Googled Your Name?

Have you Googled Your Name?

My professional name is Deborah Chaddock Brown. No hyphen. I changed my name to have my maiden name legally be my middle name since my married name is so common.

I frequently search my name to see what my prospects and potential customers see when they Google my name. I'm pleased with the content and indexed pages that I have amassed over the last five years.

Okay, but I haven't always been Deborah Chaddock Brown. I was once just little Debbie Chaddock and as my 35 (gasp) high school reunion fast approaches, I realize that old high school chums might look for me under my childhood name.

Guess what? I won a gold medal in the Vancover Gay Games in cycling. (not really me – I wish I was that physically fit).

I looked up Deborah Brown and discovered that the name Deborah Brown is connected to a jazz singer, sculpturer and a convicted serial killer ""I killed the b*tch and I don't give a da*n. I had fun out of it."

Here's my point: Google your name in every possible form. See what your potential customers are seeing. It should make you want to provide more content to the web so that there are more indexed pages with the brand message you WANT people to know you for.
