Having Trouble Getting Motivated?

Having Trouble Getting Motivated?

Feeling beat down by the economy, the long winter, slow sales or tough competition? I know what you mean. In a recent Entrpreneur Mag someone wrote in the following question:

I've been totally ground down by 2009. How can I get my motivation back?

Can you relate? The answer had many parts:

- Consider expanding products/services
- Choose new services over products – because they have lower start up costs
- Ask customers what they need – have their needs changed?

Ask yourself this: is the business in a rut or are you?

Matt Alterton provides sage advice in his guide Staying Motivated in Business.

Scott Allen writes about ways to stay motivated for the home based business owner.

I found inspiration in the article by Dean Anderson asking Where Does Your Motivation Go when You Lose it. Clever title. The article is more about motivation for diet and exercise and non-work topics, but motivation is motivation and when you lose it – it can affect all aspects of your life.

Bottom line – you started your home based business because you had a passion for what you offer or the skills you know. Think back to that initial excitement. What motivated you to start in the first place? Try and recapture that initial passion!

What do you do when you find yourself filling the day with mindless activity rather than picking up the phone and capturing new business?
