Set Goals and Be Held Accountable

Set Goals and Be Held Accountable

One of the challenges for me as a home based business owner is that I don't have a boss that keeps me accountable.

I have customers that require I complete their projects on time. That's easy. It's doing what I love.

I have lenders and creditors that expect to be paid on time. That's a no brainer. I like living indoors.

But what about those projects for your business that you keep saying you are going to do:

- Update your website. (Or get a website to begin with!)
- Write a book.
- Add a new product line.
- Research the competition.
- Start a blog.
- Do a video commercial for YouTube.

You have great intentions, but who is there to keep you accountable?

What about a Goal Buddy? I found this article that talks about the advantages of having a goal buddy for accountability.

What are the advantages of being held accountable? Lifehacker talked about that in the article Get Something Done by Being Accountable.

When that deadline looms and you aren't accountable…it is too easy to move the target date. So how do you achieve your goals? Check out this article on setting and achieving your goals.

A key component is being held accountable.

So set a goal. TELL SOME BODY. And then go about doing whatever it takes to achieve your goal by the deadline.

So here's my goal. I am starting a YouTube channel with tips on building customer relationships. It is called Make or Break Moments TV. So I want you to hold me accountable. I am going to get it started and up on the web so people can start subscribing by June 30, 2010. Okay? You heard it here. Keep me honest!
