The Internet Demands New Content Constantly

Just like the laundry is never ALL CLEAN - the Internet is never done demanding we provide it new and fresh content.

Over the last week I have attended three separate conferences; all that had something to do with social media, Internet marketing or creating a social media strategy.

In every case the speakers talked about the demand for fresh content; articles, press releases, newsletter, blog posts, Facebook updates and Tweets on Twitter.

Do you have a strategy for updating content on the web?

- Blogging is the easiest - although time consuming - platform for uploading new content attached to your name.

- Not into blogging? You can write articles 400-800 words long and upload them for free to sites like Ezine Articles. Ezine - or other sites like it - will catelog your articles and submit them to online directories. I have several articles that I've published on Ezine.

- Writing a press release about your business and then uploading it to your website, blog or the many free online news sites is another way to add new content to the Internet. For suggestions on what to write about visit Publicity Hound.

- Producing a regular newsletter and then adding it your website, emailing your opt-in addresses and then tweeting about it or including the link in a Facebook or LinkedIn status update is another way to add fresh content of value. I use Mail Chimp for my online newsletters, but there is also Aweber and Constant Contact just to name a couple.

- Adding new content your website is also a great way to provide new content. Update the calendar of events, add new frequently asked questions, include a new survey (have you tried Survey Monkey for that?)

Here is an article with 9 ideas for producing fresh content for the web.

How often do you produce new content for the Internet?
